Heavy rain with embedded thunderstorms rolled through Southern BC early this morning and it's not over yet. Circulation around Low tracking Northeast across the BC / Washington Border will drawn bands of moisture (waves of rain) with more embedded thunderstorms across the southern interior today.
As a result, Severe Thunderstorm Watches are in place for the mountainous Columbia / Kootenay Regions this afternoon. Other regions will experience T-Storms but the probability of them reaching "Severe" is minimal.
Still on the alert for significant rainfall accumulations by Saturday evening. So far, regions in the extreme south have received in and around the 25mm mark. the potential for heavy downpours associated with thunderstorms will add to this.
Be alert for higher than normal volume and flow rates in rivers and streams.
