OMG! Look at this nice stretch of weather we have ahead of us! Embrace the |Omega Block" – you can see why this type of blocking pattern is called the omega block. With the two troughs on both sides of a strong ridge – it's easy to see the resemblance of the Greek Letter Omega in the upper level air flow.
Basically there are different kinds of blocking patterns and they all lead to stagnant weather – good or bad depending on where you are in relation to the blocking pattern. For us in Southern BC ? We are going to get a stretch of weather with sunshine thanks to the ridge that will stall over our region.
After all it’s Fall – so temperatures will still be in the teens and I assume only die hards will head to the beach – but considering its after Thanksgiving and we will see a nice stretch of sun… who’s complaining?
So over the next 7 to ten days... the South Coast can expect a very similar weather pattern daily: Fog patches in the mornings and a mix of sun and cloud in the afternoon. Temps a bit above seasonal - low to mid teens. Woot!
