Often upper air flow “steers” weather patterns and influences temperature. Current winds around 35,000ft are in a broad trough/ridge pattern over North America. This setup will encourage cool/dry air from the arctic to sink down over BC and the prairies while at the same time, encourage warm/moist air to push up into Ontario and Quebec.
At the surface, the south coast of BC will see another frontal system push through this morning. Although the day has started dry, rain will return by noon. The trend is for sunnier, drier and warmer conditions by Thursday afternoon. Go ahead and make some outdoor weekend plans !
