Power to the sun ...

A change in the long range model forecast is now giving us a better chance of even longer lasting dry weather for the South Coast.  The party spoiler aka the upper level low (see yesterday's post) has now changed it's track slightly... and the chance of showers has been bumped to Sunday or Monday.  See pic of a comparison of the two tracks.  This revision will increase the possibility that  Vancouver will break the record for most sunshine hours in July...

We are now on day 26 of no rain for both weather stations in Vancouver and Victoria. With the upper ridge continuing to dominate our weather pattern over the next few days - warm and sunny weather will persist with just morning clouds and fog possible.

Speaking of rain - the North Coast will be getting wet.  Inland sections of the North Coast will see showers, but Prince Rupert can expect 10-20mm of rain over the next 24 hours.
