The Lower Mainland area will once again see varied weather today. Western parts of the region will see drier conditions with sunny breaks, while eastern parts like the Fraser Valley will see bigger chance of showers with the risk of a thundershower (again). Its not often we see the risk of a thundershower in the forecast for the South Coast - but we are starting to get into the shoulder season...and this is often when we see the most active weather patterns - Summer officially ends and Fall starts in just over 2 weeks on September 22, 2013 at 1:44pm PST !!!! (CRAZY).
This upper level low that has been the major weather maker for most of Southern BC since the beginning of the work week is finally on its way out. Gradual drying as we head into the weekend and once the ridge builds in by Sunday, that will mean the end of the showers and thunderstorms. Dry, sunny and above average temps expected for next week.
