When meteorologists are describing the weather, they are talking about short-term changes in the atmosphere. However, climatologists are the experts when it comes to what weather is like over a long period of time.

So the main difference between the two is TIME. Weather can change in just minutes, but it can take months, years or decades for us to gather climate information. Studying the climate helps scientists determine patterns and trends on how our environment is changing.
